OCTOBER 2007 DOWNLOAD ··· GEOZLERINDEN BELLIDIR ··· [instructions for download below] Geozlerinden Bellidir is a Turkish folk tune that we first heard on the out of print LP Rendezvous in Istanbul. A Turkish friend of ours says that the heart of the lyrics translates as "I can tell from your eyes". Our rendition is a bit snappier than the original, and we first released it on our album Crossing Painted Islands as performed by the 35th Parallel MediterrAsian Jazz Ensemble. This month's download is a duo performance of the song, recorded live last month at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor ME. We've played at COA five years in a row now, and it's one of our favorite venues. Enjoy!
